In this episode, I respond to an article from The Atlantic which claims that Hillary lost the election because working class voters are bigots.  While I think the author does have a few points, it seems quite clear to me that both he, and Hillary, completely fail to understand the working class.

This week, I'm joined on the podcast by Dustin from the Atheist Nomads podcast.  (Their Twitter page.)  We attempt to make our way through the beginning of the book of Judith from the Apocrypha.  We don't get very far, and this recording went on so long, that I'm going to have to split the episode up into two parts.  You'll get the second half of this on the 28th of December.  Dustin was a blast to have on the podcast, and he actually knows a little bit about the subject at hand, so it's a bit more informative than the regular Apocrypha episodes.

My guest this week was Heretic Woman from the Beyond the Trailer Park podcast, and we tackled more of 2 Esdras.  In this section, Ezra goes out into a field, eats a bunch of poppies, and hallucinates.

Episode 111: Party at the Genocide!

Another confusing couple of chapters from 1 Esdras.  Yet another high priest gets to go back to Jerusalem, while taking all the valuables from the Persian Empire.  This time, however, when he gets there, he discovers that many Jews have been marrying the locals and other "unclean" types, so he appears to call for a genocide.  Or for the "strange" women to be locked up in a box.  Its not really clear.  What is clear is that 'Jebus' is the original name for Jerusalem.  Thanks for your support!

This week, I'm joined by Chris from The Podunk Polymath, as we attempt to muddle our way through three chapters of 1 Esdras.  Don't feel bad if you can't understand it, we couldn't either.

Episode 107: 1 Esdras

This episode begins my trip through the books of the Apocrypha, and is also the beginning of my third year of the podcast.  I want to thank everyone for listening, especially those who've donated to help support the podcast in that time.

I cover about half of 1 Esdras in this episode, and will hopefully finish it off in episode 109.  Next episode, X from Utah Outcasts will be a guest on the show.

Episode 105: Doane is Done!

This episode wraps up TW Doane's Bible Myths and Their Parallels in Other Religions!  I want to thank everyone who's been listening for nearly the past 2 years, and the podcast will be continuing with a new series of works that I'll be announcing on an upcoming episode.

I also want to thank the Podunk Polymath for providing the porntastic reading of The Secret Gospel of Mark for this episode's opening.

In this episode, Doane closes the book by discussing the absolute lack of any mention of Jesus by his contemporaries, and why many of the earliest non-Biblical accounts of Jesus are likely to be forgeries.

The Great Courses lecture on the Dead Sea Scrolls

The Great Courses lecture on Gnosticism

The Great Courses lecture on Lost Christianities

Figures mentioned in the last chapter of Doane's book who I had no idea who they were:

Pomponius Mela

Quintus Curtius Rufus

Books that I'll be reading from in upcoming episodes (as soon as I can decide on the order to read from them):

The Ethiopian Bible

The Dead Sea Scrolls

The Nag Hammadi Library

Did Jesus Live 100 BC?

Once again, I want to thank everyone for listening for the past 2 years, and I hope you continue to listen to the podcast as Fuzznuts and I push forward.

Episode 95: The Throbbing Age of Jebus!

If you're worried about family members discovering your internet activity or live in a part of the world where atheism is a crime, please check this website for information on how to stay safe while surfing the web.

In this episode, Doane talks about tradition and Christianity, and how the historical record doesn't support the Gospel accounts of Jesus.  (For some reason, this doesn't lead Doane to conclude that there was never a Jesus.)
